I don't have an external PMIx.
Configure options: --prefix=[...] --enable-debug CC=... CXX=... FC=...
One of the two also had --with-libfabric=/usr/local/pkg/libfabric-1.4.0
If it might matter, one of these systems has 14 interfaces listed by
/usr/sbin/ifconfig and the other has 8.
