One small suggestion/query:
Is it possible to CC the support list with this interesting weekly
update as well? If not every one, then perhaps when milestone or final
releases of new distribution versions are released?
Thanks,
Ed.

Yes it is helpful and interesting
OK great. I didn't know about this beforehand, but appreciate the
help. Thanks Marek!
Marek and I will take turns, or find some other way to publish some
sort of 'weekly engineering news' each week, ideally on the weekend.
Hope it's helpful, Best Regards,

Hi,
as Wolfgang is out of town I jump in and try to summarize what happened last
week. Hope you don't mind. ;-)
Bug fixing, bug fixing, bug fixing:
Last week our PM plus his Q&A team pushed even harder to get things fixed.
2008.9 was on the way and needed some more love here and there. Finall

Try turning on backlight power by echo'ing 0 to bl_power (in the same
directory).

Hi,
sometimes my FR just stays "black" while the Xglamo is still responsive.
"actual_brightness" is zero, but it's not writable, so I can't change it
from the shell:

I am running the lastest FSO image from downloads.freedesktop.org.
I have been developing a simple python script using gstreamer which I had
working under MS2.
While it is possible that I may not have fulfilled all dependencies after
reflashing the rootfs, I am unable to solve this problem:
