It's that communication is bad/broken without maxperf, but great with

Okay. Channels 2 and 3 still overlap with channel 1, but there should
already be a marked improvement when you increase the frequency

I have installed everything that is required for the toolchain.
the toolchain works fine when I am using it for the sample program provided
by them. But, when I change the package name and put my own source files
into it, it starts giving me that error.

I've developed a guitar tuning app for the freerunner that uses FFT
followed by harmonic spectrum product to detect the fundamental freq of a
guitar string.
While the app is pretty basic (as of now) and my DSP skills are almost
non-existent, the app gives 1Hz accuracy about 75% of the time
