Check the voltages of your computers power supply
I had one power supply that the 5 volt output did intermittently drop below
the default 5 volts, can not remember how much it dropped but every so
often the voltage reading turned red while looking at the voltage page in
the BIOS

Both Sabayon_Linux_CoreCDX_8 (x86 amd64) are available, maybe the mirror
you are using hasn't updated for a while
I always use nluug.nl (Netherlands) or na.mirror.garr.it (Italy)
ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/sabayonlinux/iso/Sabayon_Linux_CoreCDX_8_amd64.isoDate

Have to agree with joost
The wife isn't complaining with the C700 notebook
No problems yet with my download machine, chromium is running most of the
time this machine has been rebooted a number of times due to hardware
upgrade and limbo updates
Both machines are 64 bit with 2 gig ram
On Tue, May
Enabling Kwin (disabled Compiz) fixed the problem
Having Compiz disabled is not my desired outcome)

I then tried with the vesa driver screen was not refreshing correctly
inserting usb stick caused dt to freeze (I waited 2 minutes hoping it would
come back)
Changed back to nvidia driver
Quick report
Updated to kde 4.8.1 using sulfur and limbo repo
After reboot lower panel no longer appeared (just right click dt and select
add paneldefault)
Widgets from previous dt no longer loaded at kde start (just added them
back manually)
And still having (but not as bad) the kde 4.8.0 usb

require any logs let me know which ones (I don't think the problem is
distro related)

The 4 machines in my post above are only entropy updated machines, will
install sabayon 8 on another partition then use portage only to update to
kde 4.8 just to see if I have the same
Not having that problem here
Session stays on last one I selected
