Ok a short follow up on this matter here.
Thus far I merged systemd, recompiled NetworkManager and dbus with
USE="systemd" and wrote a service file for lightdm (attached) enabled
them all and added sshd to it as well. I didn't notice any diff at
first.
Then I decided to use a stopwatch to measure
I don't think it is possible (yet) to offer both through the repositories.
I'm preparing the repos so that I at least can more easily test/play
with it (using Portage on my local system)
First step is to migrate to sys-apps/kmod and latest udev.
I'm not interested about politics, just want to see
Sincerely, the only issue that nowadays systemd solves is faster boot
speed, as I see it. But my point was: if systemd really solves *other* issues
than speed, then so be it, introduce it, but for now, I didn't see any real
need for systemd. My point :)
But there is another solution on this, keep b

It seems I missed the history of udev+systemd merge. So, udev got
f**ked-up and this one-solution-for-all systemd is a mess.
Well,
Well, two parts to your statement:
1) "If it's needed..." Is it needed? Has anyone defined a specific
issue that systemd specifically solves? My reading of Lennart's
offerings typically show that they are items designed to address things

Many people are not fans of Lennart so it's not an easy topic to discuss
without flame suits.
I personally feel it is too early yet, no need to rush to such a thing. I

If it's needed... we cannot do anything against, I guess :-?

Hi,
Is there any effort going on to bring systemd into sabayon or gentoo? I
love to see systemd take over openRC in the future. If possible I'm
willing to give my hands to that effort.
If systemd conflicts with sabayon's policy, then please forgive me for
asking this question.
Thanks,

Hi,
while I don't like the current direction that the whole Lennax (no
offense) bandwagon is taking, I've always been open to new
technologies, and systemd is no exception.
We have just started to migrate to latest udev and kmod (which
replaces module-init-tools) but we have a long way to go and we
