neomagic chips (hence the overly_mem option). As I recall there was an
issue with allocating memory beyond the limits of the blitter, similar
to the problems with Xv on via (bug 525). Could this issue be resolved

I'm expecting to tag the first pre-4.4 feature-complete snapshot
(4.3.99.15) on 1 November 2003. It will be available from the development
snapshots page http://www.xfree86.org/develsnaps/ at that time.
The release is on track for a code freeze on 28 November 2003 and release
in mid December
