rrect and
marginally less efficient for old data" seemed a better default than
"usually correct".
For a filesystem that prides itself on not allowing silent corruption,
requiring manual detection and intervention for correctness seems
unreasonable to me.

of data corruption,
unconditionally ignoring the hole_birth data for doing a zfs send fits the
bill, but seems a bit heavy-handed.
This seemed like the best way to permit people to safely send older
datasets while also permitting use of the hole_birth data going forward.

filed illumos #7175 to track this proposal - I'll happily write the code
to implement this shortly.
(Apologies if I've over-CCed or missed someone I should be asking for
comment, I've not done this workflow before.)

export to rewrite the cosmetic vdev names on the labels, but if it's every

The changes look right to me, too.

_believe_ that changing reservation is an operation you
can do while getting ENOSPC from rm calls, but I don't have a handy
full FS to test on, and I haven't tried implementing the above, so it
may have flaws that render it infeasible at best.

What model hard drives?
The only time I can think of having seen repeated scrubs doing that is
when the hard drives were e.g. Samsung HD204UI drives with the
hilarious firmware bug [1].
