There is long standing bug report from back 2011 (Qt 4.7.4) that still applies
to recent Qt version and Qt Creator:

This is nothing that has impact on performance or stability, but it just makes
Qt Creator look somehow bad engineered and it is there for soooo long.
Shouldn't it go somewhere to Qt 5.4 or QtCreator 3.2 schedule?
The problem is obviously related to extra padding added to boxes on OSX where
on other platforms there is no padding.
