no, translation is not a problem here ... i did a little research on
topic "Master planning".
It seems that master planning uses table "InventSumLogTTS" a lot.

Every time a row in "InventTrans" table is deleted it creates a row in
"InventSumLogTTS" table. now ... you can imagine that lots of delete()-s
are being made every day. And this table ("InventSumLogTTS") grows very
big.
And now the "master planning" ... when no ranges are being specified on
"InventTable" (while running master planning periodic menuitem) this
table is being emptied. Somehow it takes very long to delete the
contence of this table. * Why is that? * I don't know. I noticed though,
that class "ReqCalcScheduleItemTable" makes use of "UserConnect" class a
lot. As I understand it creates a new connection to database and
executes SQL queries through that connection. But i'm not sure.

Anyway ... we decided to empty that table "InventSumLogTTS" by hand
(directly in SQL manager) and after that master planning took 3
minutes... for all items.

If someone knows exactly for what this table is being used ... i'm all
ears :)

Translation to SQL problem (me thinks), Microsoft aka navision aka
damgaard (in this context), never sought a solution to the NULL problem
(in my opinion) - instead they've chosen to ignore it (using   chr(2)
for "empty" strings, 0 for "empty" numerals & 1-jan-1900 for "empty"
dates- however, in this particular case they've probably had to build
pretty elaborate logic to make a NULL response equal to a * response (ie
assuming ALL for NULL)

.. been there, done that

Pieter

Life'd been (grammatically) simpler if NULL had not been defined as NULL
but as UNDEFINED (which it mathematically is)

Hi

Axapta 3.0 SP2
MS SQL Server 2000

Does anybody know why, when executing Master scheduling in Master
planning/Periodic/Master scheduling ... when you don't specify item,
scheduling runs a lot slower than when you set "*" as item filter?
