Even though RH abandoned the Sparc chip after RH6.2 the Sparclinux
project is still alvie and well.

I haven't played with it for a while, but in a former job I had used
it on Sparc 5 workstations and Ultra II servers. (OK I'll tell the
truth, I played with it, it wan't _really_ part of my job :) But I did
use it as one of my desktops for a year or so).

Off the top of my head, about the only thing I can think of that will
definitely bite you wrt the Sparc arch is the differences between lilo
and silo. Of course I've been wrong before :)

You'll need to compile all the ix86 programs for sparc, but the SRPMS
should be available so they should compile OK.

You may have issues with kernel modules - especially some of the ones
we had to patch.

Similarly the installer is almost certainly ix86 specific - not fomr
the sense of it being a binary, rather that the assumptions it makes
about the target system won't necessarily be valid for Sparc.
