Dan, When I first installed 4.1beta2 in my vmware session, I had a similar problem. It turned out that I had the ethernet interfaces swapped. Did you try switching them? No, you do NOT need ssh to log in. Nope it isn't swapped - I can see the default website if I put in just the ip
