Hi JF,
this discussion should move to the tech list as it's not related to
day-to-day freenet development.
Anyways... I don't understand how you your idea will work. Where does the
executable code come from? How is it supposed to be executed? If untrusted
code is to be run on nodes, this is clear

The local cache of an insert looks just like the local cache of a Request
in 0.4. I don't see any problems beyond the general problem of multipart
caching, for which skipping one cache arbitrarily really isn't a good
solution.

Has there been any discussion as to the possibility of creating a
FreeNet Process in the protocol.
This Process could have the following properties:
1) The executable would exists in the freenet, possibly split amongst many
nodes.
2) The process could be executed by determining its set of keys an
Are you going to get rid of local caching of inserts in 0.4? This fixes one
of my anti-anonymity attacks. Scipient(what is your real name) told me that
no one was doing it.
Also could you add config.nodes to 0.4 so I can set up a local Freenet on my
LAN for testing purposes?

The inability of freenet users to use feedback forms like the web got me
thinking(Yes I do actually think!). This is an idea for FProxy includes.
Currently freesites like Snarfoo have to get people to use IndexClient to
insert their comments. This is a cumbersome process. My idea is for a specia

I agree whole-heartedly, with a couple of qualifications. First, the
formatting, which doesnt necessarily need to be binary, second, that more
complicated metadata is nice, but it does not have to be attached to the
data.
