Due to recent morbid discoveries, we need to update the list of working combinations for freenet.

So far:

Redhat 9 + 1.4.2 client & server : DOUBLEPLUSFSCKDEDUP
Redhat 9 + 1.4.1 server : a little better
Redhat 9 + 1.4.1 client : probably a little better than server, not tested extensively

None of the above however can be guaranteed to sustain a node more than 24 hours. These problems are likely to be seen in any NPTL-based linux distribution; so far afaik only redhat9 has Posix threads, but others may decide to include them soon.

Non-nptl linux + 1.4.1 server : Fine with me, not fine with Toad
non-nptl linux + 1.4.1 client : fine with everybody
non-nptl linux + 1.4.2beta server & client: fine with me

Mac OS X 10.2.6 + 1.4.1_01 : not so good according to Yves, but we did some changes since then. Pls test

Windoze 2k profesional + 1.4.2beta : PLUSEVIL memory usage. requires aggresiveGC=5 or
less.
Windoze 2k server + 1.4.2beta server & client : pretty good, no NPE observed for few
days?

Windoze XP + Iakin's jvm + eclipse: evil NPE's, cpu spikes, wsl dying, what else? ;-)

---------------------
In need of testing:
XP professional + 1.4.2 XP home + 1.4.2
2k professional + 1.4.2
2k personal + 1.4.2
Non-nptl linux + IBM 1.4.1
and possibly 2003 whatever_version_you_can_get_your_hands_on + 1.4.2
