I just realized that I made reference in my post to the 756 having good digital
rig control capabilities, but in fact the OP said that the radio is an Icom
765, not a 756.
I have no idea what digital rig control the 765 is capable of.

The issue with the Nomic is the fact that you're using the computer sound card
and more computer resources. If you have a newer computer with a good sound
card, and you have decent processor speed and a decent amount of memory, then
