[digitalradio] FT897-Signalink SL-1question

I received my cable to connect my FT 897 to my Signalink SL-1 this evening...When I plug it into my 897 is shuts the radio off...I unplug it , hit the power button and it comes back on...I don't guess I'll be able to ask Tigertronics until monday but thought someone has seen this... Gary n8gsj
