If you haven't done so yet, checking your BIOS would be a good next
step. Often, the AC97 audio is set to "auto" which will disable the
onboard audio chipset if a PCI audio device is detected. Changing the
to "enable" or "on" may do the trick for you.

I wish to have the use of two sound cards,one for digital and the other
for less important uses, ie. win sounds.
Installing my Creative Live card is perfectly normal and successful, but
