I've just finished an up-load and trial download of version .06 of "the Hamshack Hack" All seems to be in working order.
This new version is based on "KNOPPIX 3.8.1-en (2005-04-08)".
This gives us default English language support. No longer
necessary to use that fussy "lang=en
I'll get the new version. I downloaded the previous one and it
burned/worked OK, with one caveat:
In a text mode window (Alt-Shift-F2), it was apparently able to operate
the display in 1600x1200 mode, but in the GUI window it was only
1024x768. A couple months ago someone loaded me a Knoppix

The new file is a tiny bit more than 558 Meg. It'll fit fine on a 650 CD.
For your screen resolution, check the knoppix "cheat-codes" on the CD
or at the web page. Try something like this (no gaurantee)
boot: knoppix screen=1600x1200
Check the frame buffer stuff, too.
