   * Release of client version 1.0
   * Release of server version 0.7.16
   * New puppy 4.0 CD

After 3 weeks in beta the client version 1.0 has now been released.
This package will also run on the ASUS PC701 4G and PC900 mini notebooks.

The new server features a telnet agent which can be used to connect
to any telnet server on the internet. This includes gateways into the
packet network, and packet clusters. The new telnet feature is meant
for use on dedicated servers, e.g. to make a private link from a
remote contest site to a dx cluster.
Pse do NOT use it on the APRS frequencies, as you will
block the frequency. Getting your mail from the packet box on a
dedicated traffic qrg is of course possible.

After a lot of work, aided by Rolf DK4XI and INTERMAR, there is now a
puppy 4 live CD with pskmail 1.0 and fldigi 3.02. Recommended memory
size is 512 MB, the CD will run in RAM without blocking the CDROM drive.

INTERMAR (pskmail.de) provides a package to generate a bootable
pskmail/puppy4 USB stick on a windows(TM) machine. PA3GFE has found a
tweak to run the stick on a PC901 ASUS Mini notebook with XP.

For HF APRS users the user interface has been complete redesigned to
incorporate the wishes of our sailing ham radio ops.

Pskmail is a package which allows access to the internet using an ARQ
system based on PSK250. Typical speed on a clear channel is 1200
characters per minute, using only 250 Hz bandwidth.
Pskmail features include APRS messaging, APRS emails, access to
internet services like email and web pages, and telnet access into
the packet radio network.
