I use Puppy Linux and dual booting, triple booting,
etc. are relatively trivial with no crashing problems.
I think a more basic Linux helps as well as avoiding
use of the MS version of windows except when absolutely
necessary -- it is unstable in all of its iterations.

Harv's CD is a "Live" Linux OS a few things can be saved such as
bookmarks and "home" files. Not sure you can add other applications.
