I think its not the regular CD dics he made the dial from. It was the clear
plastic disc that is used as a separator between discs (anti scratch) in the
packs. I just saw that page a couple of days ago, but cannot remember
where.

First thing you might do is see if it's a rare one and then eBay it.
Believe it or not, some people collect them. One guy sold his collection
going from floppy to current CD for $232.

For the envelopes, I've been using "Zip-Lok" sandwish bags for a good
long while. Haven't noticed any "static" damage ... and it sure does
help to clear up the clutter.
