Olivia can use a bandwidth wider than the filter. MT-63 and other modes
can also.
For this reason, I would look at how much I used the narrow bandwidth
modes and make your decision accordingly.

I can't speak about Yaesu at all, since I use an Icom 746, but have been
using 250 Hz and 500 Hz filters on PSK for quite a while, and wouldn't be
without them! Most of the time I use the 250 Hz. It is narrow enough to
keep out a lot of QRM, but still wide enough to get a good copy on a weak
