*Job Title : Sr Hadoop Developer* *Location : Santa Clara, CA* *Duration : 12 months* *Job Duties and Responsibilities: * · Works on a large portfolio of applications. · Provides application design and documentation that spans multiple applications and/or functions. · Participates, and may lead, on complex projects with significant impact on IT and / or business. · Mentors less experienced team members. · Prioritizes own work regarding the development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or enhancements to existing software. · Works with technical staff and business to understand problems with software and assist to resolve them. *Required Skills and Qualifications: * · 7+ years of experience in software development/ engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution; · Extensive experience working with large data sets with hands-on technology skills to design and build robust Big Data solutions · Ability to work with a multi-technology/cross-functional teams and customer stakeholders to guide/manage a full life-cycle of Hadoop solution · Extensive experience in data modeling and database design involving any combination of - HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Mahout, Avro, Oozie · Data warehousing and Business Intelligence systems and tools · Relational and MPP database platforms like Netezza, Teradata · Open source Hadoop stack · Hands-on administration, configuration management, monitoring, performance tuning of Hadoop/Distributed platforms · Strong understanding of Big Data Analytics platforms and ETL in the context of Big Data · Ability to frame architectural decisions, provide technology leadership & direction · Excellent problem solving, hands-on engineering skills and communication skills · Consistently applies fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications. · Applied in-depth knowledge of one or more programming languages. · Substantive knowledge of coding, testing and debugging. · Proven ability to apply programming languages to develop solutions to business needs. · Competent to work in all phases of applications programming and design.
