*General Summary: *

Our client is looking for an IT Operations Engineer to join the IT 
Operations team for their Americas division. The IT Operations Team is the 
team that is responsible for the collaboration and communication of 
multiple IT teams, business units, key executive stakeholders, and other 
departments as needed. 

 

The client is looking for a candidate who has spent 5 or more years in a 
technical infrastructure role within a server, network, messaging, or 
desktop engineering environment. The consultant will work with other 
Technical Architects, Project Managers, Vendors, Functional Architects to 
resolve issues or help with change management processes.

 

*Requirements:*

   - Manages exceptions to deployments, installs and scheduled upgrades. 
   Escalates to Technical & Application Management as required. 
   - Should have advanced knowledge of incident response within enterprise 
   environments consisting of Windows and Macintosh operating systems, 
   embedded systems, networking devices and Linux/UNIX.  
   - Must have excellent written, communication and verbal skills to assist 
   with communications with other teams and writing executive summaries based 
   on work output.  
   - Ability to work with and translate complex scenarios into a simplistic 
   manner for non-technical resources (General Counsel, Project Management, 
   etc.).  
   - Project management and delivery skills desired. 
   - Requires operational knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, 
   messaging systems, various commonly used operating systems (Windows, Linux, 
   UNIX), common attack tools, and vulnerability detection/management tools. 
   - Strong background in security incident response, vulnerability 
   management, system operations and application operations a plus. Candidates 
   should have a strong proficiency in written and spoken English. 


* Incident Management:*

*Critical Response Team*

   - Critical Incident Management Support. Operates bridge calls assembling 
   appropriate support personnel in response to critical/major outage. 
   - Ensures consistency of process and good practice in execution of 
   critical/major incidents. 
   - Instruments the record keeping of events and timeline in the system of 
   record. 
   - Maintains focus of incident bridge calls on service restoration. 
   Identifies single Incident Manager. 
   - Inquiries to ensure the appropriate level of hierarchical and 
   functional escalation occur timely and to appropriate audiences. 


* Resolution/Hardware Break-Fix*

   - Drive the restoration of normal service operation as quickly as 
   possible and minimize the adverse impact on business operations in the case 
   of a failure or reduction in quality to an IT service. Log, prioritize, 
   diagnose, escalate, and/or resolve incidents. Communicate impact, 
   work-around procedure, incremental updates on status, and resolution to 
   business users, clients, and other IT organizations. 
   - Engages vendors and suppliers as required in the remediation of 
   break/fix issues. Coordinates vendor activities, timing in accordance with 
   agreed maintenance windows and communications. Attains appropriate 
   authorization for vendor engagements outside of agreed maintenance windows. 

 

*Request Fulfillment*

   - Provide a channel for users to request and receive standard services. 
   Fulfill standard requests relating to operations. Reset, recycle, 
   start/stop services, and execute procedures, jobs, and tasks as directed by 
   the requestor. 
   - Handle inquiries and issues from business units relating to IT 
   Infrastructure Operations, service availability, and performance. Triage 
   those requiring escalation handling transfer as appropriate.
