They need a Redhat Engineer that understands not just how to maintain the system by be able to architect the system on build. This includes the understanding of how disks are laid out on the system and able to think out of the box on strategies. *Responsibilities:* Perform patching/upgrades Configure, maintain, monitor and enhance server and application activities in coordination with different team members or groups within the organization. Maintain and manage critical core business servers within the organization. Generate scripts to perform system administration activities Provide support for on-call duties Troubleshoot performance problems Understand PCI standards/security hardening within the OS Provide support for additional OS related matters Deploy rollouts for the production applications Recommend areas of improvement Create/lead projects *Requirements* College diploma or University Degree in Computer Science OR 5+ years in the related field. 5+ years on managing and maintaining physical/virtual RedHat Linux 5.X or higher operating systems; AIX, Microsoft and Vmware Enterprise Edition is a plus 5+ years with architecture, design and enhancements 5+ years with creating and maintaining associated server and application projects from start to end 5+ years in generating or modifying scripts in: ( Shell, KornShell, Perl, C++ or similar languages) 3+ years in maintaining and managing Tivioli Storage Manager 3+ years experience with automation tools such as Nagios Puppet, Cobbler, Satellite 5+ years in multi-pathing configuration within Linux or AIX 3+ years maintaining or managing application such as is a PLUS: (Iplanet, Apache, JBoss, WebLogic, etc.) Extensive knowledge on design and connectivity between the servers with various applications Be able to install and maintain hardware within the datacenter; lifting, racking or moving equipment is required Must be able to coordinate and function with different teams within the organization Must be able to provide detailed performance analysis within the server and components beyond the servers such as the network and SAN storage connectivity that is attached Must be proficient with SAN storage connectivity and multi-pathing configuration/methodologies Proficiency in generating projects from start to end with minimal guidance from management Proficiency in hardening servers related to PCI compliancy Required on-call support duties that will include weekend and night time deployments Proficient on generating graphs using tools such as Excel or generating diagrams Must be able to coordinate and function with different teams within the organization Must have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated within an enterprise environment.
