*Job Summary:*

The Systems Engineer has the operational responsibility for the overall
stability and maintenance of all server and application platforms for
client Facility. This includes diagnosing and analyzing system related
issues along with recommending the appropriate solutions. This role also
provides application support and communicates periodically with users on
systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements and their
potential impacts.



*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*

·         Leads infrastructure planning efforts, including partnering with
business clients to gather and define requirements and translating complex
business requirements into technical solutions.

·         Develops alternative solutions and makes recommendations, taking
into account multiple considerations including risks, alignment with
current and future system performance specifications and cost/benefit
analysis.

·         Navigates design plans, presents recommendation to management.

·         Designs new infrastructure components based upon business
requirements.

·         Researches, develops and recommends new standards as appropriate.

·         Develop process and procedure documentation for all hardware,
operating system and supporting software across platforms.

·         Provides cross-platform, technical leadership to the rest of the
team.

·         Leads complex cross-platform improvement projects and
initiatives, including developing alternative solutions and making
recommendations which mitigate risk, align with current and future system
specifications that are cost effective.

·         Provides technical mentoring to teammates across multiple
platforms and for very complex technical issues.

·         Analyzes platform(s) trend reports and proactively identifies
issues and provides resolution. Collaborates with platform-specific teams
to identify and evaluate complex performance and capacity issues.

·         Perform lab testing procedures and analyze the results as needed
before production implementation.

·         24x7 On-Call support is required.



*Qualifications and Guidelines:*

Experience/Training/Education:

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or
10 years related systems engineering experience.

·         Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and
PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.

·         Expert knowledge supporting Microsoft technologies including
Active Directory, GPOs, Windows 2008R2, Exchange 2010, and the Office 2010
Suite.

·         At least five years of experience with server hardware, network
protocols and troubleshooting, Microsoft Windows 2008/2008R2 Server
operating systems, and associated server-related applications in an
Enterprise environment is required.

·         IT security best practices.

·         Experienced in LAN/WAN design, implementation and administration.

·         Experience in SharePoint 2010.

·         Exchange Server installation, administration and configuration
experience is required.

·         Experience designing and implementing highly available
infrastructure solutions using VMware Virtual Infrastructure (ESX, Virtual
Center/VCenter, VMotion, HA, DRS, Converter, Capacity Planner.

·         Technical analysis, design, specification, implementation,
maintenance and continual support of various networking systems including
but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, WAN
acceleration, WIFI  authentication and security.



*Skills/Abilities:*

·         Working knowledge of VMware ESX 4.x/5.x and vSphere in a large
multi-node environment.

·         This position requires deep knowledge of VMware/MS infrastructure.

·         Experience performing email administration in an Exchange 2010
environment,

·         MS SQL Server administration.

·         Experience with Apache and Linux servers is a plus but not
necessary.

·         Web Technologies such as MS IIS, Apache, HTML and browsers a plus.

·         SharePoint administration and configuration is plus.

·         Experience with Storage technologies including SAN, NAS, iSCSI,
and file systems is a must. (Compellent, EMC)

·         HP Server experience is required.

·         Light CISCO router and switch configuration are required.

·         Cisco Call Manager and VoIP Experience preferred.

·         Advanced knowledge of Windows 2008 and 2003 server is required
(Active Directory).

·         Working knowledge of firewalls, VPN and Spam Filters, WAN
accelerators.

·         DR and replication strategies.

·         Veeam backup and recovery is nice to have.

·         Helpdesk support required.

·         Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

·         Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and
products.

·         Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly
language.

·         Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.

·         Ability to effectively prioritize and executive tasks in a
high-pressure environment.

·         Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment.

·         Flexibility to assist in the management of the systems, and to
respond to critical situations.

·         Analytical problem solving skills.

·         Strong time management skills.

·         MVP/MCSE/MCSA 2003/2008, VCP, CCNA are highly desired, but not
required.
