We transform highly complex data and workflows into simple, easy experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES · Define the UX Vision for your product, through deep domain discovery, task flow analysis, conceptual modeling, journey mapping, and other strategic design approaches. · Design simple, intuitive interactions to support new features, delivering annotated wireframes and interactive prototypes (using our stencil library), that meet product requirements and respect engineering capabilities. · Transform product-specific designs into Cisco-wide Design Patterns that will enable a consistent user experience across products. · Collaborate, cross-functionally, especially o with Product Marketing, to understand marketing requirements, and to prioritize UX requirements in product roadmaps. o with User Research to understand user needs and behaviors, and to test designs. o with Engineering on what is buildable. · Clearly communicate design strategy, rationale, and perspective. · Be open to learn something new (and complicated). · Make understanding end user requirements a constant priority. · Educate internal teams on best practices around information architecture, interaction design, and usability. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE · 5+ years of experience designing enterprise level web applications. · Track record of developing and delivering successful, intuitive, and compelling designs which contribute toward market leadership. · Strong knowledge of the product life cycle (agile and waterfall) required to ensure consistently great user experience in a series of software products. · Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to successfully develop and ship products TECHNICAL SKILLS · Deep knowledge of user center design processes and methodology · Broad knowledge and advanced skills in information architecture and interaction design · Comfortable with design tools such as Axure, InDesign, Visio, Omnigraffle and/or Photoshop. · Basic understanding of interactive web technologies (HTML/CSS, DHTML, JavaScript, Ajax etc) · Keeps up-to-date on industry trends · Has experience with mobile and/or responsive web design. · Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and end user requirements PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & CHARACTERISTICS · Results-oriented team player who takes absolute ownership, and champions all aspects of customer and product initiatives. · Strong communication skills, oral and written; able to engender trust and respect of peers and stakeholders. · Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal clients. · Sense of urgency.
