Below is the job description: Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Location: Richfield, MN Duration: 5 months contract (Possible Extension) Type - C2C Job Description: Automated Tools and Technology Team:We are currently looking for talented engineers to become part of the Automated Tools and Technology (ATAT) team. This team is responsible for operating, maintaining, and developing software for an OpenStack environment that supports development on BestBuy.com, as well as maintaining and operating a collection of internal facing applications running on virtual machines that support software development lifecycle, including Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence. The team develops and deploys automation to operate and monitor the system using a wide variety of open source technologies and tools. This team is comfortable with collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders. Project Description: We currently are looking for engineers with an emphasis in the following areas: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Development and Operations: The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer must have broad experience creating, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems from the application level down to the operating system and hardware level, as well as strong experience with network administration, including interface configuration and routing. * Working knowledge of distributed data and distributed applications is strongly preferred. * Must implement solutions in an automated and repeatable fashion using infrastructure automation tools such as Opscode Chef. * Must be comfortable using Ruby, Python, and Bash. * Must be very comfortable looking at existing processes and determining the best way to engineer a solution that will be maintainable and extensible. * Experience with continuous delivery, including build and deployment pipelines. * Experience creating self-service solutions is a plus. * Must have the desire to understand system administration, such as creating and installing software, managing operating system processes, and engineering solutions for backup and recovery. Responsibilities/Deliverables that the resource will be responsible for: * Operating and maintaining an Openstack cloud * Operating and maintaining web applications running on virtual machines * Infrastructure automation * High comfort level with Linux, Rhel and Ubuntu * Aggressive Refactoring * Creating maintaining tools to support software developers * Comfortable contributing to agile team cadence * Available to be part of an on-call rotation * Administrating and operating Atlassian tools, primarily Jira and Confluence * Developing metrics to track and monitor performance of internal infrastructure Skills Overview: What are the MUST have skills that you are looking for in a candidate? At least five years of relevant experience in the following areas: * Virtualization software technology * Storage virtualization technology * Deploying, maintaining, and operating applications deployed in cloud instances * Agile practices, including automated testing * Network configuration * Linux system administration * Continuous integration and deployment practices * Infrastructure automation * Nice to have experience in the following areas: * Ruby or Python * REST webservices * Opscode Chef * OpenStack * Ceph storage * Jenkins * Operating and administrating Atlassian tools, such as Jira and Confluence What are the technologies and the depth of the technologies that a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role? 1.
