I have a couple of older Android books at home, and I have dabbled with it, but I have a possible task at work,, and I should be able to buy a few books. I'm familiar with the SDK to some extent. The spec is a few vague words at the moment, and the app I write is (or Should) never go to production

If an Android phone right out of the factory box came installed with Froyo or Gingerbread and over time, the phone is eventually upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, would Google Play then recognize that individual phone as being upgraded to ICS for app download purposes, or as the phone still

Google Play identifies the OS via the OS, not the hardware. Some applications, like the Netflix application, look for specific device IDs and won't run on non-supported hardware regardless of the operating system. -- Rich P. ___ Discuss mailing list
