It would be nice to not have to go to two separate places (mailing lists
and the new forums)

The idea I have presented to Christian is this:
The project has decided not to use forums as such for the English NL
main site on libreoffice.org
Instead, we have a Nabble interface to the mailing lists:
http://nabble.documentfoundation.org
Nabble provides quite similar functionality
