武内(yo_take_uchi)です。
-------- Original Message -------- Subject: [qa-dev] The comparative test of non_JRE and w_JRE packages (for Win) Date: Mon, 27 Mar 2006 03:02:23 +0900 From: yossy_takeuchi Reply-To: dev@qa.openoffice.org To: dev@qa.openoffice.org Hello. I am Yoshiyuki Takeuchi (yossy_takeuchi), Japanese Native Language Project's QA team lead. This is the report of the comparative test of non_JRE and w_JRE packages for Windows. # Because I can not write and speak English too much, # I could not help using Japanese-English translation software. # Please permit anyhow if there is mistranslation. <The purpose> Verifying the identity of the files (except JRE and installer) between non_JRE and with_JRE package by extracting and comparing md5 checksums of all files. <The comparative objects> OOo_2.0.2rc4_060227_Win32Intel_install_ja.exe OOo_2.0.2rc4_060227_Win32Intel_install_ja_wJRE.exe <The testing environment> Windows XP Home Edition SP2 (Japanese) <Procedure> 1. Execute OOo_2.0.2rc4_060227_Win32Intel_install_ja.exe and spread out to the "OOo202rc4" folder on the desktop. And execute "setup.exe" with "/a" option in the OOo202rc4 folder to exract "all files" to (for example) D:\OOo202rc4. This is the "network installation" (I'm hearing so), please refer to 35-36 pages of SETUP_GUIDE.pdf http://documentation.openoffice.org/setup_guide2/2.x/en/SETUP_GUIDE.pdf The folder structure extracted by network installation is (approximately) similar to it by the generally installation . 2. In the same way, spread out to "OOo202rc4_wJRE" on the desktop by executing OOo_2.0.2rc4_060227_Win32Intel_install_ja_wJRE.exe, and exract "all files" to (ex.) D:\OOo202rc4_wJRE by executing "setup.exe /a". 3. In D:\OOo202rc4 and D:\OOo202rc4_wJRE, create md5sum lists for all files recursively. I used "wMD5sum" (GUI Application for Japanese Language) http://kkkon.hp.infoseek.co.jp/software/wMD5sum/index.shtml You may use another program such as "md5sum.exe". 4. Comparing md5sum lists between non_JRE and with_JRE. I used "DF" (GUI Application for Japanese Language) http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/win95/util/se113286.html You may use another program such as "diff.exe". <Result> The differences of the md5sums are as the following. OOo_2.0.2rc4_060227_Win32Intel_install_ja.exe (JRE doesn't exist.) 8e661884998670e9a3b2ad60da81000d *openofficeorg20.msi 2ea66e6a2a4d7e086c107366747e58e0 *program/setup.ini 95a53772df7b2930b68b520be274da64 *program/version.ini OOo_2.0.2rc4_060227_Win32Intel_install_ja_wJRE.exe b49d3ff972a4f946e9aaf2ec981f9519 *java/jre-1_5_0_06-windows-i586-p.exe 5b5d4ead1acc19aaa17e032d486ccc58 *openofficeorg20.msi 2d2d2422c6fe6dd7c10b4b150b445d94 *program/setup.ini 66f6bbe05c4ab1f64510d678e50dbc11 *program/version.ini If there are no differences except these four lines, I "assumed" that the extracted files (between non_JRE and w_JRE) are identical. <Supplements> md5sum.exe and diff.exe will be included in "GNU utilities for Win32". http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/ (but I didn't use there.) Primarily, I should verify the contents of openofficeorg20.msi and the subscription status of the registry by general installation, but I don't know the way of doing it. -------------------- I also verified in the resemble way for Linux platform, but I'll report later.
