Description:
The Mitchell User Experience team is seeking a talented Senior
Interaction Designer to join our growing team of dedicated
professionals.  We present an exceptional opportunity for the right
individual to spearhead the design of a cutting-edge experience for the
next generation of Mitchell software solutions. The Senior Interaction
Designer will report to the Director of User Experience (UX) and be will
be responsible for ensuring user needs are kept at the center of the
product design lifecycle. They will specialize in UI technology,
information architecture, rapid prototyping, and conducting iterative
review sessions to identify usability aspects and recommendations that
drive the final UI design. They will work closely with Product
Management, Development and other UX team members, and will follow the
Mitchell User-Centered Design (UCD) process.

 

Experience Required:

*       3+ years experience designing UIs for software applications 
*       BS in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or
related field (MS preferred) 
*       Demonstrated expertise creating prototypes using HTML, CSS,
JavaScript 
*       Deep understanding of user-centered design (UCD) methodology and
the latest UI technologies 
*       Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills
*       Proven effectiveness working within cross-functional teams and
interacting with customers and users 

 

Experience Desired:

*       Experience designing UIs for thick/smart client applications
*       Experience with .NET client design/development 
*       Experience with rapid prototyping tools, such as Axure 
*       Master's Degree preferred

 

Focus and Major Areas of Accountability: 

*       Supervise the implementation of UI designs to ensure adherence
to design standards and specifications
*       Mentor junior team members
*       Distill user research findings into actionable design
recommendations and UI requirements
*       Synthesize requirements, scenarios and use cases into conceptual
wireframes 
*       Conduct design review sessions with project stakeholders,
subject matter
*       experts, and customer representatives to iteratively refine UI
designs
*       Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to ensure
designs balance user needs with
*       business goals and technological capabilities
*       Design and develop high-fidelity interactive prototypes using
HTML, CSS and JavaScript
*       Create UI specifications document and communicate designs
