The User Experience Product Manager will drive the initiatives that turn User Experience into a business strategic function. You will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of premium user experience for product lines related to Unified Communications. The success of our UC solutions portfolio will be differentiated by user experience and software. You will have the opportunity to influence and drive the direction of this exciting initiative. Responsibilities Translate the business requirements into interaction proposals, balancing technical constraints and with user behavior experience and innovation. Generate design proposals that hold up to usability and technical feasibility (key success metric) Work tightly with product management and engineering to rapidly converge on creative, technical, and usable solutions Working in conjunction wit internal UX sources develop design elements where needed, independently and working through external resources Develop proposals for consistent information architecture and experience paradigms across diverse visual, haptic, and auditory UI platforms (focus on consistency of flows and paradigms, not gestures and widgets) Generate high quality design proposals in a short time frame Use the appropriate design tool to communicate thinking (this isn't a role for a dogmatic preference to a particular tool or process) Obsession with simplicity The emphasis of the role is analytical and congnitive psychology oriented, with information architecture and user experience at the core, as opposed to a pure design centric role QUALIFICATIONS Desired Qualifications 3-5 years of experience creating new user experiences including web, desktop, and mobile/smartphones BS in Cognitive psychology, information analysis, cognitive science, or related degree Previous experiences with PC peripherals that work seamlessly with major Windows and Mac applications Smartphone (iPhone, Palm, Blackberry) and consumer web user experiences highly desirable Proven experience demonstrating creativity within constraints and feasibility (this is not a design exploration role) A born evangelist - use the most efficient and effective mechanism and logic to communicate the soundness of the idea and get buy-in from different audiences Professionally maturity - comfortable presenting ideas to engineers, product managers, executives, and marketing Equally comfortable with whiteboard ideas and rudimentary 3D models Sound creative sense coupled with pragmatism gained from working on many shipping products Strong usability and workflow orientation (note: interviews will involve exercises on this area) Deep sense of cognitive paradigms and pragmatism on technical constraints Creativity around working within constraints (of user paradigms, pre-existing gestures, and technical limitations) Highly sensitive to human behavior and interaction BS in Cognitive psychology, information analysis, cognitive science, or related degree Minimum Qualifications 1 year of experience creating new user experiences; including web, desktop, and mobile/smartphones Plantronics is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
