Interaction Design Interns User Experience Siemens Corporate Research Princeton, New Jersey, USA
The User Experience (UX) group at Siemens Corporate Research (SCR) is seeking interns. Recent graduates or students in Interaction Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design, Interactive Media, or close related fields are encouraged to apply. The interns will work closely with senior staff in designing user interfaces for future Siemens products/systems, supporting research projects, and/or creating highly interactive conceptual systems that will be exhibited at international fairs, tradeshows and conferences. The SCR UX is a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural, dynamic, and friendly work environment. Specifically, UX has openings for the following 3 categories of internship positions at this time: 1. Interaction Design Interns, with solid visual design background. Ideal Candidates: BA/MA/MFA students or recent graduates in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or Interaction Design with excellent visual design skills and strong interests or experiences in designing user interfaces for complex systems and products. Availability: one 3 months position, preferably starting from Jan/Feb, 2010; one 6 months position, preferably starting from April/May, 2010. 2. Interaction Design Intern, with solid 3D graphics / animation design background. Ideal Candidates: BA/MA/MFA students or recent graduates in Interactive Media, Animation Design, or Industrial Design with excellent 3D modeling & animation design skills and strong interests or experiences in creating highly interactive demos for conceptual systems and products. Availability: one 3 months position, preferably starting from Jan/Feb, 2010. 3. Interaction Design Intern, with solid Flash / WPF prototyping background. Ideal Candidates: BA/MA/MFA students or recent graduates in Media Technology, Interaction Design, or Visual & Game Programming with excellent Flash / WPF prototyping skills and strong interests or experiences in creating highly interactive prototypes or demos for complex or conceptual systems and products. Availability: one 6 months position, preferably starting from March/April, 2010. These internships are paid positions, approximately 3 months or 6 months. About Siemens Corporate Research Siemens Corporate Research is the research, development, and innovation center of Siemens Corporation in the US. The UX at Siemens Corporate Research consults with and supports Siemens business sectors worldwide in user experience design and innovation. Additionally, the UX works with the US Government and partners with universities for research projects in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. The UX / User Interface Design group is located on three continents (Munich, Germany; Princeton, NJ, USA; and Beijing, China). These internship positions are based at Princeton, New Jersey, USA.
