In my company we have very good experiences using this method: http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1028050 The Instant Data Analysis (IDA) allows us to conduct a usability evaluation with 5 users per day and have feedback to the developers ready the next day. The IDA method strengths is that the most important usability issues will be found and communicated to the developers in a very fast manner. If the need for detailed analysis still exists, a traditional videobased analysis or whatever you prefer may still be conducted.
