Hi,
I've found GeoPrisma (http://geoprisma.org) being a promising web
mapping application for access control to geospatial data via a proxy.
Now it seems to be abandoned since over a year.
Is this true?
Are there alternatives (in Python, Ruby or Java)?

I'll second Dave's nomination. Besides the work Dave Bitner mentions, Dave has
been a regular presenter at state GIS/LIS meetings on topics ranging from
MapServer to Python. More recently he was one of the key technical resources in
the launch of a new state-level geospatial data portal
Big thumbs up on Jukka's nomination and an equally big thanks for all the work
he does supporting users within the MapServer community. I wasn't aware of
breadth of his involvement and that is indeed impressive!
