Hi Oceania folks
It's likely that everyone in the community is aware now that there are
two geospatial conferences scheduled in Oceania at the same time this
year!
One is the Pacific Geospatial Conference [1] - a collaboration
between OSGeo Oceania, the Pacific GIS and Remote Sensing Council.

Hi Suchith, all.
A geo-ethics discussion is always a good thing!
I hope the geoethics list decides to have an open, public archive soon.
It is my view that ideally we discuss geo-ethics as a really broad
community - and I also see that not everyone on this discuss list wants to
get involved all
Hi OSGeo Oceania
First, its great to see that microgrants and other small project
funding initiatives are getting momentum :)
I wanted to hopefully suggest a clearer path for the Good Mojo funding
idea, since that seems to create some confusion [1].
My first suggestion is to rename it. It is aim

Hi Suchith, this is interesting! I look forward to seeing discussions
there. I have one request: can the mailing list archive be made open
for anyone to read? I think its important that these types of
discussions can be spread far and wide..
Cheers,

Not at all, I wanted to clarify just in case I came across as 'this is a
necessary step' and accidentally downplaying QGIS capabilities ;)

I should point out that my own usage of inkscape / gimp is because of
'reversion to the familiar' rather than 'QGIS is missing stuff'.
Eli and Nyall are right, QGIS has a *lot* to offer before any need to
export and manually touch up!

Hi everyone
Thanks for this discussion, I think it reflects that whatever changes to
the CoC are made will be strong. Thanks Maria for starting it - please keep
the discussion going and don't give up yet!

I support Michael’s nomination also. Incredibly supportive in OSGeo point
cloud ecosystems, and always ready to help in his role as treasurer.
