I think there may be some confusion over the meaning of "free" in FOSS.
"Free" in FOSS means free as in libre, referencing the "Four Essential
Freedoms", not free as in no cost. It is actually a stronger statement
than "open".

If you want to be thorough, testing on different versions of the "same"
Linux distribution makes sense. Generally, the compiler and all the
surrounding libraries are upgraded between distribution versions and could
have different behaviors or bugs.
You might want to look into a continuous
It seems a shame to throw away historical documents.
I'm not at all informed about Flickr, but I suspect it keeps track of who
contributed a photo. Why can't we just asked whoever contributed non-CC
pictures if they would be willing to mark them CC?

What is the list of Charter Members sorted by? It mostly looks sorted

The wiki list is missing people too (me for instance). Also I noticed some
people were in there more than once (as a real name and a User:name).

With all due respect, withdrawing after voting has started isn't fair to
those who have already voted.
I have been intentionally staying out of the melee that has been the
discuss list lately, but in my opinion this is just not right.
With full appreciation for and recognition of all the good

Bob, Are you trying to differentiate direct support of standards vs
indirect support via another package?
GeoMoose is a web client and I believe the current project page (at least
as of when I was working on it at the FOSS4G code sprint) correctly states
the supported standards.
While MapServer
I generally agree with Even's comments.

about how this would apply to free software that is mostly intended to

I have been quietly following this and find validity in both points.
However, one thing is puzzling me. OSGeo has other projects that have come
from the research environment (Mapserver and Grass come to mind but there
are probably more). What is different about rasdaman?
On May 5, 2016 05:25,
'proj' is the source package on Raspbian Jessie (or Debian Jessie). The
installable binary packages are proj-bin (command line tools), libproj0,
libproj0-dev, and proj-data.
Note: I've been running MapServer and friends on Raspbian on a Pi2 for
awhile.
