Dear OSGeo community,

this will be a somewhat lengthy e-mail covering the topics of:
- initial general program schedule release (yay!)
- registration and how you can support FOSS4G Europe 2024 by adopting a ticket - sponsorship opportunities, especially gold level if you like to see one of the parallel session rooms named after your company (live-streamed and played back on the interwebs for eternity).

But everything in due course.

First off. The FOSS4G Europe 2024 LOC is happy to announce the release of the preliminary schedule for the main conference days 3-5 July 2024. There are still some changes to come:

- the academic track schedule will be released in a couple of weeks time
- some talks in the general program are still not yet confirmed by presenters and therefore do not show up. If you happen to be one of them please confirm your presentation so as soon as possible. A reminder has been sent out to your e-mail, if you cannot find it in your inbox/spam feel free to contact me, I can help with the details. - some room-shuffling will most probably still take place but we will try to keep the assigned time-slots for talks as is. - as usual we are expecting some feedback from the presenters about the assigned slot not being suitable because of travel-arrangements, etc. - and if you already know now that neither you nor any of your co-presenters will be able to participate, please withdraw, as we have a quite long waiting list of initial regular talk submissions that were (due to space-time constraints) asked to convert to lightning talks instead. If possible we'd love to convert at least some of them back to regular talks. It would be a pity to see talk slots go unused.

The schedule can be explored in further detail at

talks.osgeo.org/foss4g-europe-2024/schedule (see link [1])

A more general overview of the conference agenda is available at FOSS4G Europe 2024 homepage at

2024.europe.foss4g.org/schedule/ (see link [2])

It's going to be a fun-and-work packed week-long festival dedicated to free and open source software and data and standards. But most importantly the communities, the people that surround them!

Another exciting piece of news that we'd like to share is that the registration for the conference is now open. With the first month we already have a stunning 60+ registrations! You can get yours done in the pretix shop accessible via

2024.europe.foss4g.org/registration/ (see link [3])

There you'll find all: the main conference, workshops, OGC EUiDays, all extras, and also some merchandise, e.g. maybe you'd like a conference t-shirt, or maybe a hiker's mug as memorabilia. Or maybe you'd like to support the conference by adopting a ticket for our workshop presenters, keynoters, or travel grant receivers.

More information on the adopt-a-ticket initiative is available at

2024.europe.foss4g.org/registration/adopt-a-ticket/ (see link [4])

And lastly, but not least importantly. There are still sponsorship opportunities left. We are especially keenly looking for gold level contributions as these will make live-streaming and recording of the presentations during the main conference days a reality. In turn we will extend our gratitude by naming one of the parallel session rooms after your company, just as we have already done so with GEOCAT. This and all other sponsorship opportunities can be further explored on the conference homepage at

2024.europe.foss4g.org/call-for-sponsors/ (see link [5])

There's still loads of work to do in gearing up but the LOC is already eagerly waiting for the start in just less than 3 months time. And a huge hearty thank you to all who have committed their time and resources to the success in preparation of FOSS4G Europe 2024 during this past year plus a little more. We are in awe of the community response.

All the best from a quite spring-like Tartu,
