Subject: 11 December 2020, Virtual Workshop on the GODAN/CTA/GFAR Agricultural
Data Codes of Conduct Toolkit

Dear all,

GODAN is pleased to invite you to a (free!) virtual Workshop to find out more
about our Agricultural Data Codes of Conduct Toolkit
(https://www.godan.info/codes).

 When?

 Friday 11 December, 2020.

>From 14h00 - 15h30 CET (13h00 - 14h30 UTC).

REGISTER HERE: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_UO3_1PrFQLep6W2pneebIQ

Details

The Toolkit provides a guide to data management best practice for any
individuals or organisations (farmers, agri-businesses, associations, regional
or national governments…) who collect, manage or share agricultural data.

The main purpose of the Workshop is to explore ways to promote and encourage
take-up of the Codes of Conduct Toolkit (https://www.godan.info/codes), with a
view to reaching a broader audience within the agricultural sector. Our main
focus is on targeting smallholder farmers in developing countries, to help
raise awareness of the benefits, risks and challenges of data sharing in
digital agriculture, and the need for a more responsible and equitable data
flow between the various stakeholders.

During the Workshop, participants will gain a greater understanding of the
Toolkit, including background into how and why the tool was created, and how to
use it to create a personalised, customisable code of conduct.

The event will also allow you to input into GODAN, the CTA and GFAR’s work on
Data Ethics, as we take it forward. We will be using participant feedback to
further develop the tool and help inform our work.
