I am very happy to see that FOSS4AG Day 2018 is being organised as part of the FOSS4G NA Community & Workshop Day is on Thursday, May 17 in St Louis, USA to learn and bring together all interested in how open source spatial and non spatial technologies operate within the Precision Ag space . https://2018.foss4g-na.org/foss4ag Thank you to all organisers for making this possible. I hope to see more FOSS4AG events globally esp. in the developing world. This is very relevant to FOSS4G Asia, FOSS4G Africa and local FOSS4G events . With climate change and increase in extreme weather events already affecting agriculture and livelihoods of small hold farmers , it is important that geotools and open data are available to agriculture scientists and students in the developing world to help find solutions to protect the livelihoods of small holder farmers. I request all colleagues and FOSS4G local organisers to please think ideas to make this possible.
