After discussing with our lab members, i am pleased to inform that we now have
an official name and also short acronym (to be used for mailing list, domain
name etc) which is easy to remember for the network.
"ICA-OSGeo Lab Network" is the official title of the network and OSGL for "Ope

REL is used to abbreviate "Rights expression language" and is used in
ISO standards. In the geospatial domain we have "ISO 19149:2011 Geographic

I agree that we need to avoid confusion between the incubator and the
research and education initiative. If folks are used to "OSGEO labs" being
associated with incubation, I would say keep it that way. I like both EDU
and REL, but I think the REL label for Research and Education weould be
