In the past we've had a good presence at this event. This year they have an open call for participation. I encourage anyone who is thinking of submitting anything open source related, to let the rest of us know, in case there is an opportunity to collaborate.

Where is Location Based Technology Heading?

O'Reilly Where 2.0 Conference wants to know.

What are the hot new technologies that will change the way we think about mapping information? The data mashups that will change the way we travel?
The innovations that drive local search and shopping? The ultra-local
killer app that's about to take off?

We don't need a map to tell us where the geospatial industry is heading,
but we do need your input. Proposals are due November 26, 2007.

To submit a proposal to map the future of the geo-spatial industry visit:
http://en.oreilly.com/where2008/public/cfp/1

Now in its fourth year, the Where 2.0 Conference is where you'll find
open source mapping tools, open standards for data and location web services, and sensors for obtaining location data. You'll learn how the established geo industry is reacting to the first businesses making money from their
grassroots geospatial projects. There's no better place to meet the
people behind the mash-ups, the people behind the platforms, and the people
looking ahead to the future of geospatial.

We don't chase trends, we present them. And that's where you come in. We are seeking proposals, product demonstrations, mashups, and cool new hacks
that change the way we think about location based technology.

What are the technology-leading innovations you are working on late into
the night? If you are working in the following areas, we want to hear
from you:

GeoTargeting
Sensorweb
Open Source Geo-Stack
Real Time Data
Disaster Relief/Environment/NGOs
Crowd Sourced Data
Virtual Worlds
These are just of a few of the topics on our radar screen as we map out the next Where 2.0 Conference. Join us at Where 2.0 to debate and discuss
what's viable now, and what's lurking just below the radar.
Submit a proposal to make a presentation, lead conference sessions or
deliver tutorials at the next Where 2.0.
