On my unit the aluminium faceplate came off too. After I contacted Slimdevices support ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) they immediately sent me a completely new replacement faceplate. As I live in the Netherlands, I consider this as a pretty good service. Let's hope that the aluminium is better fixed now.

Wireless range depends on so many factors that it's hard to generalize, but I think the theoretical limit for 802.11g is around 100 meters, and in the real world it's likely to be a lot less than that. Also, what were you planning to use to power the Squeezebox? -- aubuti

I think it only will refresh the playlists during rescan, so the easiest way is to perform a rescan with rescan playlists only. It is possible to start a rescan using the CLI by connecting to port 9090 and enter the correct command. So this should also make it possible to perform the rescan
