You can use pretty much anything with a web browser.
The Nokia 770 web pad has a specifically designed skin which is
available in Slimserver 6.5 beta, and works well. There is also a skin
and some native apps for PocketPCs

OK - I got a clue from tech support.
There are different playlists for each client attached to slimserver.
Pick your connection in the upper right of the SS screen.

I don't think it would be, SlimProto and SlimServer are both
open-source.
I don't have the knowledge required though.

Yes, and then just record the stream using the application of your
choice. 'Audacity' (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) can do this,

I believe the guy that writes SoftSqueeze is developing a new
application to do the low level music playing and network
You can probably do this pretty easily with mplayer's -dumpstream
option. It won't be integrated with slimserver as you originally
requested, but I'm not clear if that's really a requirement for you.

You could add the shows to the My Picks editor plugin... The plug-in
stores the show url's in an OPML file which you can access at any
time.
From a user perspective, you would browse to Internet Radio, My Picks,
Nugs.net Shows, show you want to listen to.mp3. I have tested this
with the Hot Mama

That example I gave is a playlist. They're still just single mp3 files,
