Thanks James. Is this a LastFM limitation or a LastFM plugin

The only workaround seems to be to have the cue file refer to the tracks
in individual FLAC files.

that is referenced by a cue sheet. If I select the raw FLAC file from

I would second the WRT54GL.
BTW it's a G*L*. Don't get the WRT54G (no "L") because you'll probably
end up with a v5 or v6 unit, much less capable and performs worse than
the "L" version.
Also note that WPA-AES is not an official combination and is not
supported by the Squeezebox. WPA2-AES is,

You'll have to rescan. It's a manual process.
You don't need your laptop on for that, it's a function of SlimServer
which you have running on your NAS. However a rescan is an intensive
process, you may have difficulties playing music and getting the web
page up with it running.

I used to have a DI-624, but as a result, I would never buy anything
from D-Link again. The DI-624 couldn't even stay alive as a switch for
more than 4 hours, let alone with wireless.
Switched to a WRT54G and have never looked back.

I would like to restrict access to my SS by fully qualified domain name
as opposed to IP. That would allow me to define access from computers
with a dynamic IP. An alternative would be to restrict access by MAC

The default slimserver preferences file (i.e. location of music folder,
language etc.) is C:\Program Files\SlimServer\slimserver.pref
If you upgrade or re-install without deleting this file, then settings
will be carried over. AFAIK this is default action as it save users
re-entering their pref

I had problems with Slimscrobbler (I replaced the 6.3.1 with the 6.5
version of the plugin).
I also use Album Review, Biography, Weather Date/Time, Dynamic
Playlists, Track stat, and Grab Playlist.
The SlimScrobbler would be a showstopper for me if it did not
I have just installed softsqueeze_linux_with_jre_2_8.rpm on my Fedora
Core 3 linux box. When I run /opt/softsqueeze/softsqueeze I can play
music from my Slimserver but the gui is a bit mangled. If you look at
the screenshot here -
