guess is that Logitech won't see any logic in having two devices at the
same price point, and my hope is that they'll aim for the best of both,

it particularly matter what address i assign? or can i just enter any

Thinkgeek.com will ship you a T-amp in Europe, I believe, but it may not
be worth the trouble with duties, etc. Besides, it's probably not what
you need. The first 5W or so are what everybody raves about. From
about 5W to 10W it's pretty lo-fi, and that's about as high as it goes.

a rescan. How long does it really take? Can't you leave it overnight?

I am looking for a small amplifier for mu squeezebox to amplify some
in-wall speakers. It is the intention that the amplifier and its psu
are not visible at all (that's why they need to be small ;)
The in-wall speakers I would like to use have the following specs

If your SB is connected to Squeezenetwork then it won't be able to
connect to your local slimserver. At the SB, log off from
squeezenetwork and see what happens...
It connects to one or the other, not both at once.

I know not everyone uses cross-fade, but for the benefit of the many
who do, I was wondering if we can have the option to cross-fade over
more than 10seconds, eg 15seconds possibly even 20. Many songs have
such a long natural fade that 10seconds give no perceptable overlap.

I will be at the show on Friday, and one of my MAIN reasons for

can't find slimserver though both are running independently! I can use

Yes, a crossover cable is definitely what you need.
Of course, if you have a old/spare hub or switch lying around you could
use that too, but the cable will be the cleanest solution for you.

i think i found the answer. apparently i need a crossover cat-5 cable
rather than the straight thru cat-5 i was using. anybody tried this

i want to connect my sb3 directly to my computer via ethernet cable, but
it doesn't seem to work. is this even possible at all? i have all my mp3
files set up on a second hard drive (F:/). when i run slimserver it says
it cannot find my sb3. the reason i'm trying to do this is that i will
be takin
managed to unzip it by downloading 7-Zip. I now have email.pm in the
plugin directory, and cmd.pm and pop3.pm in the plugin\net directory.
But I can't see this plug in anywhere in Slimserver. It apparently
should be in Server Settings \ Plugins but it isn't. Tried rebooting

I've been signed up for AllofMP3 for a couple years and I never
received any spam to that address until Oc
tried that and it doesn't work. Looks like my winzip doesn't like .tar
files, as I tried the email plug in for slimserver 6.2 which in .zip
format and it works. Only problem is it is the wrong version!

Sounds like an error with your download. I just downloaded it and
confirmed that the file is okay. Try re-downloading and unzipping
again.

I have had this problem also with MIP 1.7 and SS 6.5b3 using the full
MIP library as a source for mixes. Sometimes one track would make it to
the SS playlist, sometimes the whole list, and sometimes some other
amount. Always after a partial list is sent, MIP has to be restarted to
reestablish comm
Use the network (UNC) path (the one that starts with \\), look in
network neighbourhood. It is possible that you may need to run
SlimServer service under an account that has network privileges too.
The default install under local system account does not.

I finally figured out the various artists issue. Thanks everyone for
your help. Now, I have another strange problem. If I scan my library
with the playlist folder populated with playlists, I lose over 800
artists. The playlists are there, all albums show up, and even all the
songs, but the art
