Well, whether something was changed in the update depends on how exactly
it is that you managed to do (with 6.5.1) something that people think
you shouldn't have been able to! So lets try focussing on that.
First, do you still have the 6.5.1 installation or have you wiped it

Hi,
I now have several Squeezeboxes. I also have lots of CDs. What I was
thinking about was streaming my CDs directly to the Squeezeboxes. That
means I am looking for some software that not only plays the CDs but
also creates a stream URL while playing. With that I could use the
Squeezeboxes
Appologies if you already know but Chandos Records have begun selling
WMA lossless recordings on line.
That's the good news. The bad news is that they are a couple of pence
more expensive than the CD's themselves but it's a start, pity they
haven't discovered flac.

I have my slimserver installed under a separate 'slimserver' user for

you installed under...

Do your files have COMPOSER tags set too?
There is an bug with searching by artist in 6.5.2 if the files also
have COMPOSER tags, which is fixed in the nightly releases of 6.5.3.

You would wonder at them being more expensive.
Surely when distribution and production costs are taken out their price
should be a lot less.

Hi,
since 2 days I have three SBs. Yesterday I synchronized two of them.
At the beginning everything was fine but after about 15 min I noticed
some sort of echo. Thirty minutes later they had a difference of about
1-2 seconds. I paused several times but that did not help. I just

Thanks for that suggestion. Just tried that and I can actually see the

power buttons so obviously the remote is faulty. Not very good when I
have just had it for about 12 months. I assume the warranty is only one
year as well so
Are you playing individual tracks or internet radio? Internet radio will
drift out of sync sooner or later, but slimserver should re-sync at the
beginning of each track.
Are you running wired or wireless? Wireless can be harder to sync
because of interference from other devices, although again,
Why direct streaming ? Why not ripping (EAC + FLAC) ?

Just tested the new iTunes Plus. Bought the new Fountains of Wayne (the
full album price is the same as the old iTunes copy-protected version).
New DRM-free iTunes Plus version loaded and played through SlimServer
and Squeezebox seamlessly. Good news!
Also, re: high bitrate downloads:
Especially if you have multiple SBs, you'll enjoy them a lot more if you
rip them to a lossless format and stream them using slimserver. I dare
say that for 99.3% of users(*) that is the main point of having a
SqueezeBox. And far better than some kludge to get your CD player to
stream to the SB.

Check the Wave Input plugin announced recently in the third party
plugins section, when I read its description it sounds pretty close to
what you want.
