No, until Apple makes the DAAP protocol open and standard, supporting it
would probably be a waste of time. Apple could just change it with the
next version of iTunes to something completely incompatible.

IIRC it's the same souyrce code - just a compile option.
Also I think the audiocoding site may not be available as Nero took
them over.
An alternative to faad would be mplayer - it's a bit big but works.

I know that I can use the + key on the SB3 remote to remove songs one at
a time from the Now Playing list, but is there a quick way to remove All
songs from that list?
I realize that I can do it easily in SS by clicking the Clear link, but
I haven't found such an easy method from the remote.

As someone who has also been frustrated with this behavior, you can do
what I do. Download and use version 6.3.1. This version treats
compilations the same as prior versions and sorts compilations into

There is a restriction with Slimserver about stream - you were
converting WMA to mp3 and then trying to reconvert again to send to
stream.mp3. This doesn't work.
Your station plays fine with native WMA on an SB3.
To tune-in SoftSqueeze - use the Tune in menu on the web interface.

I've tried Softsqueeze and there is no option to tune into URL to give
this is a go. From reading around and looking at the convert file I
guess that it is trying to download the .wma file do wmadec then pass
through lame to convert to mp3.

That didn't help. Forcing the FLAC to play as an MP3 helped
(flac/LAME), but I wonder if it sounded a little muffled.

Most of my audio is in ogg, that works very well, but now I installed
"faad" on my linkstation pro to get those itunes formats running, I
guess it has not got the power to decode on the fly. I am getting

I've done some more tests and am now convinced there is a problem with
the Slim hardware or software. The rip was reported with no errors and
the file sounds fine under various other playback methods.

re-imagining how I can use this technology to make my home network
simpler.
There has been some discussion surrounding implementing daap (one of
the Zeroconf services) in SlimSer
I searched the wiki and the forums before posting here, but now I found
a bugzilla.

Thanks to Caolas for putting me on a useful track with this. I am now
successfully streaming from my SlimServer to a remote Icecast server
configured as a stream relay.

I have prevoiusly ripped my complete CD collection to 320 kbps ogg
vorbis. Then I got a Squeezebox a couple of weeks ago, and when I try
to play my .ogg files on it I somethimes get the "Ran out of decoder
data memory" error message. When I get this error message I have to
change song to one
Ok so scheduling a rescan in SlimServer does not wake up the computer at
the alloted time.
Only way I can think of doing this is by scheduling a job in the
windows scheduler just before the slimserver rescan?
Anyone else done this or come up with a neat solution?

crackling when played on your SB? Well, that eliminates any possible
bug in the SB's FLAC decoder, and in turn suggests that the problem is
