It's possible that a security app is not allowing mplayer to run. Also mplayer will need to use socketwrapper so make sure mplayer.exe and socketwrapper.exe are trusted app/exception in your security s/w. There was a change about using socketwrapper in 6.5.3 which might affect its use with mplaye
