I don't know about Netstumbler S/N, but I have found the results
inconclusive.
Its worth trying reorienting the antenna anyway - what have you got to
loose?
Moving the SB3 a few cm either way could also have a significant

beginning rather than the selected song. I haven't been able to find a

No, this is a cheap NAS--not one that you can install software on. So
the NetCenter just stores the music files and my PC runs SlimServer.
Sometimes he will play music files stored on the NetCenter, but not
when he is gaming.
He's never been interested in an Xbox, but wouldn't that use network

If so, and this feature is turned on, it may prioritise his gaming
traffic over the Slimserver stuff. It's supposed to help with audio
streaming and VOIP, but I always end up switching it off

I don't see anything like that in the Belkin router settings.
However, that reminds me... I switched from my Belkin router to a
Netgear router for a short while when I first started having this
problem (in addition to another problem where my PDA was unable to
connect). Didn't have any issues

Strange, maybe try changing the URL to your exact IP address, perhaps
something is wrong with localhost. Click start, run, type CMD and hit
enter, then type ipconfig and hit enter in the dos prompt. Try using
the URL http://yourPCsIP:9000 in the properties of the .url file.

I've seen similar behavior when I was using Windows XP for my server.
The machine was also connected to my network via wireless. Both of my
squeezeboxes are wireless.
I've also seen this behavior if the signal strength is marginal (
50%). When using mine on my deck connected to PC speakers

I really don't understand. I've just tried different versions of
Slimserver (clean install).
6.5.1 2 is running ok without any gap when I skip to next song.
6.5.3 won't start automatically at system start but ok when I skip
6.5.4 6.5.5 long gap ( 5 seconds) when I skip to next or

I had a similar experience when I briefly had a metal bucket placed
between my WAP and my SB3. Moved the bucket and performance was back
to normal.
My suggestion: test wired, then if wired is okay, look for wireless
interference/contention.

Which Belkin do you have? On my pre-N Belkin router (F5D8230-4), the QoS
stuff hides under Wireless/Channel and SSID.
